In collaboration with international and Japanese partners, the Kyushu University UNESCO Chair organises and supports a number of conferences, symposia, workshops and smaller events - both online and face-to-face. In January 2021, Professor Vickers, in collaboration with Professor Ann Heylen of National Taiwan Normal University and other international colleagues, hosted the second East Asian Popular Culture Conference. This event was supported by Kyushu University’s Progress 100 scheme.
